The Allahabad High Court directed today the district magistrate and superintendent of police of Kaushambi district to present on July 31 during hearing of a PIL alleging that certain people are not allowing the members of Christian community from attending Sunday School and also undertaking the Sunday Prayers.
The bench comprising Justice Govind Mathur and Justice C D Singh passed the order on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Roshan Lal and 44 others who are residents of Kaushambi district.
The bench further directed that petitioners may also file rejoinder affidavit to the counter affidavit filed on behalf of the respondents by the next date of hearing.
In the petition it was alleged that certain people were not letting the members of Christian community from attending Sunday school and undertaking the Sunday prayers.
It was alleged that the district administration is not taking any adequate care to protect the people who are having faith in Christianity and they are not being allowed to practice their religion.
