Jharkhand High Court today directed the state government to give a status report on the distribution of compensation to the next of kin of Naxal attack victims on September 19.
Taking seriously the counter affidavit filed by the state Home department stating only some relatives of the Naxal attack victims were compensated, the division bench of Acting Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice S Chandrasekhar asked the Home secretary to file another counter affidavit updating details of compensation distribution.
The court was hearing a PIL filed by a social activist Gopi Nath Ghosh that the kin of the Naxal attack victims were allegedly not getting compensation.
