Dhanush appeared in the court along with his mother Vijayalakshmi and father Kasthuri Raja today as per the direction of the court on February 24.
Justice G Chokkalingam, before whom the actor and his parents appeared, posted the case for hearing to Thursday.
The court directed that the personal identification marks of Dhanush be checked with the help of a government doctor at the Judicial Registrar's office here.
In their petition before the judicial magistrate's court the couple Kathiresan and Meenakshi claimed the actor was their third son and also sought a monthly maintenance of Rs 65,000 as they were in a very poor financial position.
They had submitted that Dhanush was a school boy when he ran away to Chennai to get into the film world. They could not trace him then and recognised him while watching movies. Their efforts to meet him at Chennai also did not succeed, they submitted.
Dhanush, son-in-law of superstar Rajinikanth, also sought a stay and also quash the proceedings pending in the judicial magistrate's court at nearby Melur.
He also submitted that the birth certificate filed by the actor was not genuine and his name and the registration number were not mentioned in it.
In the school transfer certificate, it was mentioned that Dhanush belonged to Scheduled Caste, he submitted.
He also contended that Kasthuri Raja, claimed to be the actor's biological father, belonged the Naicker community, a backward class from Theni district.
