A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Anu Malhotra rejected the petition of Sanju Bala, whose nomination as a BJP candidate from Bapraula in Ward 24S, was rejected by the Delhi poll panel.
A single judge bench of the high court had on April 8 upheld the poll panel's decision which was challenged by Bala before the division bench. "We find no merit in this appeal," the bench said.
Bala was proposed as a candidate by deputy mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation, Shashi Prabha from Bapraula ward but the returning officer (RO) had informed Prabha she was not an elector in the ward, for which she proposed the candidate.
