Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed the Southern Regional Load Dispatch Centre, Bangalore, to restore the supply of 300 MW of power from Jindal Power Project in Karnataka to Andhra Pradesh.
The court, in its ruling two days ago, stayed an earlier order of SRLDC and directed it to restore power supply under the short term open access in terms of Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) regulations notified in 2008.
Last month, Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), on the ground that Karnataka was facing an acute power deficit, withdrew the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) issued for supply of 300 MW power to Andhra Pradesh.
SRLDC, which is responsible for inter-state scheduling and dispatch of electricity, then stopped the supply of the power from Jindal Power Plant to AP, following which the Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation Limited moved the High Court.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement the Energy Co-Ordination Cell of the Energy Department said the Ministry of Power had decided to allocate 276.83 MW of power to Andhra Pradesh from Aravali Power Company in Jhajjar in Haryana. "With this the total allocation from APCPL, Jhajjar to Andhra Pradesh would be 503 MW," it said.
The additional allocation followed a request by AP Governor ESL Narasimhan, it added.
