HC's Justice K L Wadhane heard the arguments by the prosecution and the defence on the crime branch's application and decided to reserve its order until next week.
Arguing on behalf of Kamat, defence lawyer Surendra Dessai said that unless the police executed the arrest and releases him, the challenge (to the anticipatory bail) cannot stand. He also questioned the maintainability of the application.
Kamat has been booked by the police in connection with Louis Berger bribery case.
The investigating agency has already arrested former Goa PWD Minister Churchill Alemao and other officials in the case.
