According to the MeT department here, day temperatures fell appreciably in Gorakhpur and Faizabad divisions; fell in Varanasi division; and change a little in the remaining divisions of the state.
It was largely above normal in Meerut division; markedly above normal in Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Jhansi, and Agra divisions; appreciably above normal in Varanasi, Faizabad, and Moradabad divisions; and normal in Gorakhpur division.
The state's highest temperature was 48.3 degrees Celsius recorded at Allahabad.
The MeT department said the weather would remain mainly dry in the state. It warned that the heatwave conditions would continue in some parts.
