The union government had extended the invitation to Heggade, the hereditary administrator of the Sri Manjunatheshwara temple at Dharmasthala, considering his contribution to promote Yoga, Prashanth Shetty, principal of Manjunatheshwara college of Naturopathy and Yoga Sciences, said in a release here.
Shetty said a new Guinness record was created in 2014 with 62,827 students performing Yoga at the same time in 47 different centres in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts under the initiative of the Dharmasthala temple administration.
The Yoga day would be celebrated at Dharmasthala also, he said in the release.
