Minister of State for Culture Mahesh Sharma said the state government of Delhi has proposed to the UNESCO to include Delhi's Imperial Capital Cities among the World Heritage Cities.
The Delhi Chapter of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) had prepared a nomination dossier on behalf of the Delhi government, which was eventually submitted to UNESCO by the Culture Ministry in January, 2014.
In October 2014, an ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) evaluation mission came to evaluate the site, he added.
They had asked for some additional information in respect to the property, which was forwarded to the UNESCO in November, 2014.
The ICOMOS team had called for a meeting on January 19 this year in France and A G K Menon, Convenor, INTACH Delhi chapter attended the meeting, he added.
