Heroin worth Rs 55 lakh was seized from a Nepalese national in Sonauli along the Indo-Nepal border here Sunday by a joint team of police and SSB personnel, an official said.
Birbal Chaudhery (25) was arrested from the Sonauli bus stand following his arrival from Nepal with the contraband in possession, he said.
Sonauli is a common transit point between India and Nepal.
The heroin was seized and an investigation is underway, the official added.
