Hides of endangered musk deer, sambar found

: Hides of endangered musk deer and sambar deer have been seized by forest Department officials from a private bungalow at Kookal on the Kodaikanal hills, an official said here today.
The officials raided the private bungalow late last night on a tip off that a poacher gang was camping in the private bungalow and smuggling animal hides and body parts and seized embalmed heads of Nilgiris Tahr, Sambar deer and leopard.
Two men in the bungalow managed to escape. The officials found two hides and bones of musk deer and Sambar
The hides were handed over to court custody today after registration of cases, officials said.
