The deceased, 29-year-old Amit, was being taken to a hospital by his accomplices for medical assistance after he had sustained bullet injuries in a clash on July 4.
A team of Indirapuram police and Special Task Force (STF) intercepted them at Bhopura near Loni and also exchanged fire with the gang during which Amit's accomplices fled from the spot leaving him behind, SSP Dharmendra Singh said.
After taking him into custody the police team took Amit to a private hospital for treatment.
"Amit succumbed to bullet injuries and infection in his intestines this morning. He was kept on ventilator since the day of his admission to the hospital," Singh said.
