The jihadist network behind the Paris and Brussels attacks are "in the process of being destroyed" but others remain, warned French President Francois Hollande today.
"We have had some results in finding the terrorists and, in Brussels as well as Paris, there have been a number of arrests and we know that there are other networks," said Hollande.
"Even if the one that committed the attacks in Paris and Brussels is in the process of being destroyed... There is still a heavy threat."
French police arrested 34-year-old Reda Kriket in Paris yesterday, and accused him of being in the advanced stages of planning an attack and having ties to Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected ringleader of the November 13 terror attacks in the French capital.
Three men were arrested today in Brussels for links to Kriket's alleged plot, the Belgian federal prosecutor said.
"And so Syria is our first objective. Nor do we forget Iraq. And we don't forget the question of refugees. We wish to ensure that the right to asylum is fully respected and, at the same time, that we can control our external borders," Hollande added.
