The meeting was also attended Home department officials and senior police officers. In the meeting the Home department suggested that concerted efforts should be made to end the use of constables by senior police official for private works according to an official statement.
It was also suggested that a Central police workshop be established to cut down expenses on vehicle repairs and also put an end to senior police officers keeping more than two vehicles.
The meeting was held after Lal Thanhawla asked all the secretaries to make suggestions on improvement in efficiency and austerity measures.
