Hot, humid conditions return to Punjab, Haryana

Humidity levels rose up to 90 per cent in the region, the Met office said here.

Bhiwani in Haryana was the hottest in the two states with a high of 38.6 deg C.

While Rohtak had a high of 38.1 deg C, the maximum in Hisar was 38 deg C, two notches above normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar settled at a high of 37.6 deg C, four points above normal followed by 36 deg C at Patiala, three notches above normal; 35.3 deg C at Ambala, two notches above normal; 35 deg C at Ludhiana, one point above normal and 34.3 deg C at Chandigarh, one degree above normal.

The Met forecast light to moderate rains at isolated places in the region, besides development of thundery conditions in the region during the next 24 hours.
