"As of today, there is a traffic congestion. Minimum congestion means you are creating addition to the existing congestion.
"What is your (concerned authorities) alternative, that is only our concern. What is the diversion plan? The only diversion I (judge) can see that you can divert the traffic towards Dhaula Kuan. There are no other roads," a bench of justices Badar Durrez Ahmed and Siddharth Mridul said.
"How will the traffic flow go, I cannot see that," the judge said, adding "you will have to show us on the next date of hearing (October 28)".
The court's oral direction came while hearing a plea by resident welfare associations of Vasant Vihar challenging PWD's decision to build a three-lane flyover parallel to the one existing at Rao Tula Ram (RTR) Marg.
The petitioner, meanwhile, informed the court that this project is an "utmost disaster" and needs to be solved.
The counsel for Vasant Vihar residents also said that before embarking on the project, the authorities should create an exit (alternative route) for the traffic which would come on that road.
"They must first keep the exit ready as the traffic moves towards Gurgaon, Dwarka and Airport," the counsel also said.
