Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today announced release of two per cent additional DA to employees from July this year, and said their demand of increasing the retirement age from 58 to 60 years will be placed before the Cabinet for consideration.
Besides announcing release of two per cent additional DA from July this year, he said capital allowance and tribal allowance will be enhanced.
Employees are the backbone of the government and they have been contributing enormously towards the development of the state. The government has from time to time accepted their genuine demands, Singh said at a meeting of Joint Consultative Committee of HP Non-Gazetted Employees Federation here today.
Chief Secretary V C Pharka said cases of anomalies, particularly in grade pay, should be sent to him through secretaries concerned for further examination and redressal.
He said the state government has filled thousands of posts in different departments in the last four years and those which are still vacant will be filled up soon for which the departments have been asked to send proposals.
Pharka directed all departments to expedite the procedure for promotion of employees.
The demand to revive 117 posts of Superintendents Grade-I in education department and joint ministerial cadre in Higher and Elementary Education will also be considered, the chief secretary said.
