In his notice, Sukhu asked Bawa to explain the circumstances under which a criminal case was registered against him leading to his arrest by Haryana police and gave him 15 days for replying to the notice and also submit the copy of the FIR.
"Involvement in a criminal case amounts to breach of discipline as per article XIX (f)(iv) of constitution of "Indian National Congress," the show cause notice said.
Bawa who was appointed chairman of Himachal Pradesh building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board after Congress government came to power, recently surrendered in a old case registered against him under Arms Act before first class judicial magistrate in Kalka on March 26.
He was released on bail after three days.
The issue also rocked the state assembly with the opposition BJP demanding Bawa's removal from the post of chairman.
