The appointments, for which interviews were conducted in 2012, 2015 and 2016, were held up due to "various reasons and court cases" and as a result 40 per cent post of teachers were lying vacant in various departments in the university which could have adversely affected its grading by NAAC.
Appointment letters would be issued soon for nine posts each in Law and Hindi departments, eight posts in Political Science, seven in History, four each in Mathematics and MBA and three each in Visual and Performing Arts and Sanskrit departments, HPU Registrar Pankaj Lalit said, adding two posts would be filled in Social Works department and one each in Tourism, Environmental Studies, Bio-Technology, English, Psychology, Business Management Institute, Computer Application, Economics and Geography departments.
