"There have been some allegations of irregularities. The Ministry has written to the President, who is the visitor of central universities, to allow an inquiry into them," a ministry source said.
A former senior faculty member of the varsity had leveled allegations of administrative irregularities against varsity authorities. The ministry had then sought a reply from the varsity on the charges.
When contacted, JMI VC Talat Ahmad said a reply was given with regard to the allegations, which he termed as baseless.
