Huge haul of detonators seized from bus in Simdega

A huge haul of detonators were recovered from a bus near NH-23 in Simdega district today, the police said here.
As many as 8000 detonators were seized from a bus bound for Gaya in Bihar from Odisha's Rourkela, Superintendent of Police Rajiv Ranjan told reporters here.
Following a tip-off, the police intercepted the bus near Joram panchayat of the district situated near the national highway and recovered the explosives.
The khalasi (cleaner) of the bus was arrested, the SP said.
On January 18, the police had recovered 10,000 detonators and about five kg ammonium nitrate from passenger buses near Namkum on the outskirts of Ranchi and three persons were arrested.
