The company had sold 51,718 units in the same month last year, HMIL said in a statement.
In the domestic market, Hyundai sold 37,450 units last month compared with 36,205 units in May 2014, up 3.4%. However, the company's exports declined 2.9% to 15,065 units as against 15,513 units in the same period last year.
