Karan judges reality shows like "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" and "India's Got Talent". He is also a host of celebrity chat show "Koffee with Karan".
"Every Thursday TRP rating comes and I call the team to check if it is up or down and why it is like that. I look at it (television) as I look at my films. When I am part of anything I want it to do well. I want to make sure it works," Karan told PTI.
"I don't look at television as mistress in my life. Television is my spouse and it will always be one of my spouses like films. I am married to two mediums, film and television," he added.
The filmmaker feels disheartened if the TRP of the shows that he is part of is down.
"I take it personally...If TRP falls down I feel it's because of me and if it goes up then I take credit for it. It's everything in my head. I am glad to be on television."
