Income-Tax department sleuths today questioned the Vice-Chancellor of Dr MGR Medical University, S Geethalakshmi, actor-politician R Sarath Kumar and his wife Radhika here in connection with an alleged tax evasion case.
The Madras High Court had yesterday rejected the VC's petition to quash the IT summons, following which she appeared before the authorities, sources said.
The department had yesterday searched the media production house run by Radhika Sarath Kumar.
Earlier, the I-T officials had interrogated Health Minister C Vijayabhaskar and Sarath Kumar after searches on the premises of Health Minister Vijayabhaskar and Sarath Kumar in Chennai.
The searches on the premises of Vijayabhaskar's associate had allegedly revealed routing of Rs 89 crore for "distribution among voters" in RK Nagar Assembly constituency, where the bypoll was cancelled over charges of use of money power.

Sarath Kumar had yesterday told reporters that the I-T department was continuing the probe and had asked him to submit some more documents.
