"Singin' in the Rain" star Debbie Reynolds, whose first husband Eddie Fisher had eloped with Elizabeth Taylor, admits she was too innocent to understand a man at that age.
The 81-year-old actress said she felt like her modern counterpart Jennifer Aniston when she learnt about his scandalous affair, reported Sun online.
"I stood no chance against her (Elizabeth). I was just like Jennifer Aniston with Brad Pitt when he fell in love with Angelina Jolie. If Angelina wants someone, then that is that. Certain women have that power. What chance did I have against Elizabeth, a woman of great womanly experience, when I had no experience at all?," she said.
Reynolds, who had three failed marriages behind her, said she grew up in a family which had a 'very old-fashioned' thinking process.
"I was raised to think that if you behaved badly with men, you went to hell. I realise now it is puritanical and not very adult.
"My mother, Maxine, was married at 16 to my father Raymond and in 56 years together he was the only man she ever had. She did not tell me about periods or sexual intercourse. She never discussed it - ever. We were very old-fashioned," she added.
