The 35-year-old "Trainwreck" star said she could not believe she was told this when she took her first step into a career in the movie industry, reported Female First.
"At my first audition when I was 21, they were like, 'You should either lose weight or gain a bunch of weight, like be the fat friend or the romantic lead.' Can you believe they said this?
"But I feel like more than other people saying it, it's a self-inflicted thing. We put pressure on ourselves and hold ourselves to this unrealistic standard," she said.
"I want to throw my hands in the air after reading a mean Twitter comment and say, 'Alright! You got it. You figured me out.
"I'm not pretty. I'm not thin. I do not deserve to use my voice... All my self-worth is based on what you can see. But then I think (ignore)," Schumer said.
