I will not direct 'Hansel and Gretel 2': Tommy Wirkola

Tommy Wirkola, who directed and penned the 2013 action-horror film 'Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters', says he will not helm its sequel.
Wirkola, who has 'Dead Snow 1' and its second instalment, also helmed said he wants to try hand at different project rather than sticking to sequels, reported Aceshowbiz.
"I've just decided to not direct 'Hansel & Gretel 2'. I have been lately attached to a few more things, it's just a matter of time and priorities. I did 'Dead Snow 1', then 'Hansel & Gretel 1', and then 'Dead Snow 2'. I want to do something a little bit different now and not just do sequels," he said.

Although he steps down from his position as the director of 'Hansel & Gretel 1', Wirkola still returns to the scriptwriting duty.
"I did write the script and I hope to be involved in it. But yeah, I won't be directing it," he said.
Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton who headlined the first movie haven't been signed on for 'Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 2'.
