ICC delegation met Sonowal, discusses ways to promote trade in

A delegation of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) today met Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Industry Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, and discussed ways to promote trade and commerce in the state.
The delegation presented before the state government a road map of future initiatives to be undertaken in the state, an ICC release said here.
The delegation also sought suggestions from the government in highlighting areas to be focused so that it can effectively engage industry and other non-government agencies to implement the programs and mission envisioned by the government.
The ICC delegation comprised chairman of north east initiative Mahesh Saharia, vice president Rudra Chatterjee and director general Rajeev Singh.
The chief minister pointed out the rich biodiversity of the state which can be showcased to potential investors. The state government would be happy to facilitate investments in organic farming, tourism and other sectors, he said.
Skill development was another key focus area of the government and proactive involvement of the industry was sought to empower youths.
The ICC delegation assured that a detailed road map to meet the objectives would be soon prepared and presented to the state government.
The delegation also invited the chief minister to attend the CEO Forum, Horasis Global Meeting - India, scheduled to be held in November this year in Kolkata.
