If elected, NCP promises to create border scouts for Jammu

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today said, if voted to power in Jammu and Kashmir, the party would create a fully-armed border scouts on the pattern of Ladakh scouts in the border belt of Jammu.
"NCP has pledged to create border scouts on the pattern of Ladakh scouts which will be fully armed... People of the border areas of Kathua, Kanachak to Poonch areas will be employed," state NCP chief Thakur Randhir Singh said here.
He said the border area will be developed as special zone to grow vegetables, aromatic and medicinal plants, dairy farm and poultry farm.
Singh said the farmers from 25 villages in the Chinnore area were deprived of their farmland by the agriculture department.

"The agriculture department has not returned the land to the farmers of the 25 villages even after the expiry of the lease period. NCP would make it sure that these farmers get their land back," Singh said.
He said if voted to power, his party would work on the development of water resources and would create infrastructure for proving irrigation facility to the farmers of the Jammu region.
