State Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria directed range IGs and district SPs to conduct public hearing on a regular basis from 12 noon to 1 pm so that people can approach them directly with their grievances related with the department.
The decision was taken in a meeting with senior officers, according to a release.
He also asked the officers to give more attention on monitoring investigation of heinous crimes and to take effective action against liquor, land, mining and other mafia.
Senior officers including ACS Home A Mukhopadhyay, DGP Manoj Bhatt were present in the meeting in which issues of law and order were discussed in detail.
