Illegal arms manufacturer caught in MP

A notorious manufacturer of illegal arms was caught by the special task force of police in Khargone district today in a joint operation with local police.
Lakhan Singh alias Fauzi was arrested on a tip-off from Singnoor village in Khargone. He was allegedly involved in sale of illegal weapons outside Madhya Pradesh too, an STF release said.
The arrest of Vidyaram Singh Gadaria with seizure of 11 pistols, supplied by Lakhan, led to latter's arrest.
Lakhan, a commerce graduate who served in BSF for many years, returned to his village and entered the illegal arms manufacturing and trade with other members of his family in 2006, the STF said.

He deployed others to deliver the weapons and accepted payment through the bank, it said.
He is suspected to have sold as many as 150 weapons outside Madhya Pradesh. Further probe is on, the STF said.
