Acting on a tip-off that two persons were carrying arms in Bachau town of Kutch district, police arrested them when they going on a motorcycle and recovered a .32 bore pistol and a .12 bore local-made revolver from their possession along with a live cartridge.
On further inquiry, the arrested duo - Latif Kakal and Abdul Langa - told the Special Operations Group sleuths that they had procured the revolvers and cartridge from Bachu Luhar and Raidhan Koli, who allegedly manufactured arms at their house at Rapar. They said they were carrying arms for an interested customer.
A case was registered at Gandhidham and Rapar police stations under sections 25 (1)(B)(A) and 29 of the Arms Act against three persons.
Further investigation is underway to determine where other arms were sold.
