Illegally sourced teak worth Rs 15 lakh seized

Three trucks carrying teak illegally sourced from Mizoram were seized by forest department officials in Cachar distrct of Assam on Wednesday, officials said here.

The timber was valued at Rs 15 lakh.

A total of 1250 pieces of wood measuring around 5297 cubic feet were in the trucks intercepted at Notun Bazar under Sonai police station limits.

Drivers of the three trucks were arrested, the officials said.
