The annual procession of Lord Vinayaga idols commenced yesterday which witnessed immersion of several idols of the elephant god in designated places in city.
While traffic in many areas were disrupted due to procession, the immersion of idols is expected to take place over next few days.
Most of the areas were procession was held came under thick security cover, in order to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the rally.
