Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday directed Director General of Police Kuladhar Saikia and the Home department to expeditiously implement police modernisation projects.
Modernising the police force and upgrading its infrastructure are contributing factors to increase the efficiency of the police, Sonowal said.
He also asked the Chairman, Assam Police Housing Corporation Anil Kumar Jha to complete construction of police stations.
"The state of the art police stations have added to the prestige of the police personnel who serve the people in general in times of distress," he said.
Sonowal reviewed the progress of under-construction police transit camp at Guwahati and the stages of implementation of modern traffic signal system and other programmes related to the police force.
