"The complainant alleged her husband and his family members have been harassing her physically and mentally since her marriage in 2015. Later, her husband went to US at his work place. Last evening, her father-in-law and mother-in-law picked up quarrel with her at their house," stated a release from Hyderabad Police.
The police said the complainant's mother-in-law (67) held her hands while her father-in-law Mohammed Abdul Hafeez (69) pushed her on the floor.
"They intentionally tried to kill her by throttling, due to which she screamed after which her cousin rescued her," the police said quoting the complaint.
