Cloud cover and showers in some parts of the national capital led to a decline in the mercury level.
The rain gauges recorded 9 mm rains since morning in Delhi. The day temperature settled at 34.4 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.3 deg C.
The humidity level oscillated between 69 and 95 per cent, Meteorological department said.
In UP, major rivers continued to flow near the danger mark at several places while four more people died in rain related incidents taking the death toll to 163 this monsoon.
According to Central Water Commission sources, the Ganga river continued to flow close to the danger mark at Fatehgarh, Kannauj, Ankinghat (Kanpur dehat), Kanpur and Ballia.
The Yamuna river was also in spate flowing close to the red mark at Mavi and Prayag Ghat in Mathura.
Najibabad got 9 cm rains, Puranpur 6 cm, Narora 5 cm, Sambhal and Muzaffarnagar 4 cm each, Meerut, Fatehgarh, Bijnor, Saharanpur and Aonla 3 cm each.
However, rains eluded Punjab and Haryana.
Chandigarh, where some parts received light rain this evening, recorded maximum at 34.6 deg C, up by a degree above normal.
Hisar in Haryana was the hottest place in the region, recording a high of 37 deg C, up by two notches.
Rajasthan got scattered rains with Dug area in Jhalawar district receiving the state's maximum rainfall of 8 cm.
Light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places in Udaipur, Kota, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Ajmer.
