India and Saudi Arabia will be inking a key pact on labour cooperation when Saudi Labour Minister Adel Fakieh arrives here tomorrow on a three-day visit.
The Labour Cooperation for Domestic Service Workers Recruitment pact is aimed at streamlining and standardising service conditions of Indian workers in Saudi Arabia, which has 2.8 million plus strong Indian community, the Spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs said here today.
The inking of the pact, which stems out of recent Saudi labour law 'Nitaqat', will also pave the way for more comprehensive cooperation in this field, he said.
The Saudi minister would hold "intensive" talks with the Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi on Thursday after which the agreement will be signed. The visiting dignitary will also meet External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Friday before leaving.
