India should reply strongly to Pak: VHP

The state unit of Vishva Hindu Parishad today said that India should reply strongly with heavy weaponry to the repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
"India should reply strongly by using heavy weaponry in response to Pak mortar shelling and firing on civilian areas and defence establishments along the Indo-Pak border. This is the only solution and a permanent lesson to the enemy," state VHP President Ramakant said here today.
Unless the enemy is replied in the manner it was done during 1947, 1965, 1971 and 1999, it is not going to allow a peaceful living for us, especially on our borders, he said.

The VHP leader opposed Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's visit to the Jammu region tomorrow, saying that it is meaningless and will add to the miseries of the people in the border areas.
"It is not understandable what message Shinde wants to convey when border tension is increasing day by day and Pakistan is not paying any attention towards our peace initiatives. Hardly a day goes when there is no firing on the borders," Dubey said.
The entire administration and security forces will be engaged to facilitate Shinde's few-minute talks with some civil and security officers, he said.
People in the border areas have started migrating. Seven to eight villages bearing the brunt have already been vacated and rest are sure to follow, Dubey said.

If Shinde has feelings for the people, he should keep the gun-carrying security men out and meet the people on the borders and see their plight, he said.
