Deepika Kumari played two finals but had to settle for silver in both the events as Indian archers bagged three medals, including a bronze, in the first Stage World Cup Archery tournament in Shanghai.
In the mixed team final, Indian pair of Deepika Kumari and Jayanta Talukdar settled for silver after losing to strong American team of Brady Ellison (World No.1) and Khatuna Lorig (Olympic Medalist).
The Indian pair secured 146 points while the winners managed 154.
Deepika and Talukdar had defeated Mexico (146 Vs 140) in the semi-final and Japan (145 Vs 143) in quarter final.
Competing in the individual event, Deepika needed a 10 to win gold but she struck eight to settle for silver.
However, she fought well against Korean Yun Ok-Hee, the 2008 Olympic bronze medallist. The Indians won the first set with 29 point but Yun came back to make it 2-2.
She took the lead in the third set (4-2) but the Korean archer regained it (4-4). In the final stage, Deepika could have won the match with a score of 10 but she could manage eight points in last arrow nervousness. She took silver with 29, 27, 29, 28, 26 in five sets against 27, 28, 28, 29, 27.
Deepika showed excellent form by eliminating Joo HJ (Korea) in semifinal (3-2 set) and Pavlova Anastasia of Poland comfortably in quarter-final (4-2 sets).
