A 24-year-old Indian-origin Uber cab driver, wanted for an alleged sexual assault, has surrendered before the Canadian police to face trial, a media report said.
Amritpal Singh has been charged with forcible confinement and sexual assault, police said.
According to police, Singh sexually assaulted a 25-year- old woman who boarded his cab from Toronto's Eglinton Avenue area on the night of September 15.
The victim, who was attacked inside the cab, also suffered minor injuries and has reported the incident to the police, following which police requested public's assistance in identifying the cab driver, the Voice Online reported.
