The body of the woman was found hanging in Abu Shagara area on Sunday, a Sharjah Police official said.
"She was found hanging from the ceiling," the official was quoted as saying by Gulf News.
He said the woman apparently committed suicide by hanging herself with a piece of cloth.
Criminal Investigation Department and forensics officials examined the scene of the apparent suicide after police reported the incident on Sunday, the official said.
The woman's body has been sent for autopsy. Police are investigating the case.
