Vasantha Reddi, 64, collapsed in the mall after experiencing chest pain, and later died while on her way to the hospital in an ambulance.
She had come to Dubai with her husband Sathyanarayana Reddi, 68, a Rotarian from Chennai on Wednesday to participate in a conference organised by the Rotary Foundation, Khaleej Times reported.
Several hundred delegates are in Dubai as part of a Rotary Institute programme in Dubai.
Efforts are on to repatriate the body of Vasantha to Chennai, Reddi said.
The official death certificate says she died of cardiac arrest.
"She was happily clicking photographs and wanted me to pose in front of a posh car, because she knew my admiration for good cars. We clicked a photograph together, which is the last memory she left behind," Reddy said, adding that social workers and family friends are helping repatriate the body.
"We were married for 39 years and this was our first foreign trip together. She is no more and I am flying back to Chennai with her body," the grieving Reddy said.
