The chamber suggested that to promote coordination between regions and also to mitigate regional feelings, two-three districts should be taken as an economic unit for development planning and make them as growth centres.
It released socio-economic development plans for Telangana and (new) Andhra Pradesh here today.
The other measures needed for rapid economic growth are: creation of land banks for each district helps planning optimum utilisation of available land, restriction of real estate activity to prevent spiralling of land cost, mechanisation of agriculture, formulation of integrated state human resource development plan, setting up of small manufacturing zones for each district.
Nizamabad and Medak districts can be developed as agro-based and food processing industrial centres, while Warangal and Khammam belt can be promoted as mineral based industrial centres.
Measures should be taken for modernization of existing clusters and development of industrial areas in the Greater Hyderabad area.
Since vast tracts of land is available in Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts, they can be put to use for development of manufacturing clusters.
For key infrastructure development, development of parallel road and radial road projects, development of railway networking to all the industrial zones, promotion of three domestic airports are needed, the chamber said.
"It is estimated that, once Pranahita Chevella lift irrigation projects are completed, then the demand for power increases to 11000 MWs," the chamber said.
The state government has to concentrate more on meeting this huge demand for power in the coming years, it said.
Since huge amounts of investment are required for massive infra facilities, the projects should be developed on PPP mode, it added.
