was injured while controlling bandh supporters in Bokaro yesterday, succumbed to injuries at a hospital here today, the police said.
Ram, who was the Nawadih Police Station in-charge, suffered chest injuries while controlling supporters of the bandh that had been called by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha to protest the recently announced domicile policy of the state government.
Expressing deep condolences, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said the government is with the bereaved family at this hour of grief, an official release said.
Das directed the Director General of Police D K Pandey to probe into the matter and strong action be taken against the guilty, the release said.
