"Gouranga Chatterjee who sustained head injuries, was not carefully examined by doctors and sent back untreated under pressure from the state government which pursues a dual policy for treatment of ruling and opposition members," Mishra said.
He charged the state government with deliberately maintaining that Gouranga Chatterjee had no serious problem.
Reacting to the allegation, former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee said that if the charge was correct, then it was criminal negligence by the SSKM hospital.
"If it is found to be pre-planned and part of a conspiracy, I would say it is a condemnable incident which should be protested and probed," Chatterjee told a TV channel.
