Iranian Embassy in London reopens after 2 years

The Iranian Embassy in London has reopened its doors more than two years after it shut over diplomatic tensions between the Islamic Republic and the United Kingdom.
A report on the website of Iran's state broadcaster said the country's flag rose today over its London embassy. A staffer in London who identified himself as A Elahi told The Associated Press that it opened with local staff without any Iranian officials there.
The British Embassy in Tehran was closed in late 2011 after hard-liners overran the building amid fears of a strike on Iran's nuclear program. Iran's Embassy in London also was closed.

Relations between the two countries have thawed since moderate President Hassan Rouhani took office in August. Oman has been representing Iran's interest in Britain since the closure.
