The SBI Manipur University branch here was vandalised by a section of customers and in the process, one policeman identified as Shyama Singh suffered minor injuries, police officials said.
In another incident, window panes were smashed and the name plate of the SBI branch at Leimakhong in Imphal West district was uprooted by aggrieved customers, they said.
Meanwhile, the nationwide protest by opposition parties against demonetisation was also carried out in the state capital.
President T N Haokip of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee told reporters that the demonetisation had severely affected the people and put the daily wage earners to immense hardship due to lack of currency notes.
