Irate students damage school workshop

Rampaging students vandalised the office and workshops of an engineering school here today accusing school authorities of shielding a lab demonstrator facing sexual slur.
The developments capped the alleged sexual harassment complaint of a first year girl student two days back against the demonstrator.
District police sources said with no action taken against the accused, the students ran amok damaging school properties worth over lakhs of rupees.
When contacted, principal of Bhubanananda Odisha School of Engineering (BOSE), P K Mohanty said he received the written complaint only at 11 am today and within hours, the demonstrator was placed under suspension pending inquiry.

The sources said the irate students have damaged some instruments and equipment in the laboratories.
The complainant also lodged a police complaint over the matter.
