The minister said the programme had been arranged long ago and asked PRO Thangavelu why they were reading from the wrong list continuously.
Officials said that the minister was irked after the beneficiaries who were seated as per order said they were not the ones named and sought to know why proper arrangements had not been made and asked some of the officials, including the PRO, to get off the dais.
He distributed benefits to the tune of Rs 4.45 crore to 483 beneficiaries.
The welfare schemes included "Gold for Thali" (Mangalya suthra).
